A Spectacular Ending to a Spectacular Season!
Coastal FC’s U-13 Division 1 (Gold) boys’ soccer team won the 2015 Provincial B Cup Championship. The Les Sinnott Memorial Boys Provincial Cup was hosted in 100 Mile House from July 9 – 12, 2015. The local S. Surrey / White Rock boys beat their cross town rivals, the Central City Breakers (CCB) V United, 2 – 0 to capture the Provincial B Cup. The path to the finals included defeating Kelowna United FC, 6 – 1 and Nelson Selects, 6 – 0. The provincial victory was a complete team effort, with strong defensive play and goal tending only allowing one goal in three matches and seven different players contributing to the 14 goals scored. This hard working and fully committed group of players started training last August (with sprints) with the goal of making Provincials!
The boys had one impressive season by going undefeated in the Regular Season (11 – 1 – 0), the Championship Series (5 – 0 – 0), Coastal Cup (4 – 0 – 0), and Provincials (3 – 0 – 0). Over the past season the boys won gold or were Champions at: Five District League Finals, Coastal Cup Finals, Richmond Thanksgiving Tournament, Coastal FC’s Umbro Cup and Provincial Cup Finals!

Give your child an Active Start with Coastal FC's Preschool Academy!
Looking for an activity for your preschooler this Fall? Coastal FC is now offering a six week introduction to soccer program for kids aged 2- 4! The program is designed to provide a positive introduction to soccer in a fun and pressure free environment that will encourage kids to not only remain in soccer, but to stay healthy and active throughout their lives. Children are introduced to the basics of soccer (dribbling, running, shooting, passing) through a variety of fun games, activities and obstacles. The use of child friendly soccer equipment assists early education and helps players develop their cognitive ability and physical literacy. Studies have shown that developing physical literacy at a young age will lead to life long involvement in an active and healthy lifestyle by instilling confidence. More information regarding the benefits of keeping your kids active can be found at Physical Health and Education Canada

U13 PL Girls Win Provincials

U13 Provincial Cup Final
The Coastal U13 girls topped off an impressive season with victory in the Provincial Cup final on Sunday, beating rivals Surrey United 3-1.
Coastal and Surrey finished 1st and 2nd respectively in the league so it was fitting that these two teams duked it out for the Provincial Cup.
Coastal came out strong and dominated the early stages forcing a couple of early corners that Surrey defended well.
However, the deadlock was broken in the 8th minute when Coastal midfielder Raya Athwal found a yard of space at the top of the box and drilled the ball home past the helpless Surrey goalkeeper at the near post.
Strong first half performances from Jaymie Caldwell and Amy Clarke kept Surrey United at bay as the teams went into the half time break at 1-0.
Coastal coach Mark Pennington made some personnel and tactical changes at half time which had the desired effect with Coastal coming out on the front foot creating several chances early in the second period. Coastal forward and game MVP, Laurel Judson, was a threat all afternoon and she set up substitute Gianna Testini who expertly slotted home to make it 2-0. Gianna was at it again just a few minutes later converting Emma Falk’s cross to put the game out of reach at 3-0.
Surrey did pull a goal back near the end with a superbly taken strike from Mikayla Tupper, but it was too little too late as the league champions made it a double winning season securing the Provincial Championship too.... Read More
