Coastal FC is thrilled to join Year 2 of the TELUS She CAN Coach program by Canada Soccer, aiming to increase women's representation in grassroots coaching. The program now includes 54 clubs across five provinces, with 13 from British Columbia, showing significant growth from the inaugural year's 20 clubs.
TELUS She CAN Coach is a national coach recruitment, development, and training program designed for women to address the challenges they face regarding soccer participation. Specifically designed for new and entry-level women coaches, it focuses on those interested in starting or continuing Canada Soccer’s Grassroots Coach Education. By providing access to education, training, and tailored support, the initiative aims to break down barriers, encourage more women and girls to participate in soccer and promote gender equity at all levels of the sport.
"We are thrilled to be part of the Telus She CAN Coach Program. This initiative will provide invaluable opportunities for women in coaching, helping to inspire the next generation of leaders in soccer. It reflects our ongoing commitment to fostering diversity, empowerment, and inclusivity within the sport.” said Nour Fathy, Director of Soccer Operations.
Coastal FC has been selected to participate in the TELUS She CAN Coach program, joining 12 other clubs from British Columbia. This selection highlights the club’s ongoing commitment to fostering a supportive environment for players and coaches while promoting female leadership in soccer. Through this initiative, Coastal FC will help break down barriers for women and girls in soccer, encourage greater participation, and create pathways for those interested in coaching at the grassroots level.
